Pep Club 2020

What is Pep Club?
Spreading Bear Cub school spirit throughout the school and community including C.M.S. sports and activities. Pep Club members help plan activities before select home games and pep assemblies for the C.M.S. student body. Members are also active in the stands at all home sporting events holding up signs, cheering with the cheerleaders, and supporting their peer athletes.

How can I join Pep Club?
All C.M.S. students, 6-8 are eligible to join. At the beginning of the year, typically within the first two weeks, we have a meeting for all students interested in joining.

When do we meet?
We will meet once a month on Wednesday, during club time, and we will also meet once a week after school, as necessary to plan for home games.

If I join, what kinds of things might I be doing?  As a club, we will be decorating lockers, decorating hallways, making signs and banners, reading morning or afternoon announcements when appropriate (ie: spirit weeks, special occasions, etc.) and working with the cheerleaders to promote school spirit at all home games.

Is there a fee to join and if so, how much?  No, there is no fee to join.  In fact, if you are a pep club member, you will get into each home game at a discount, as long as you show your pep club card and ID to the ticket taker at the door.

How many events must I attend?  To maintain your pep club status, you must attend four C.M.S. athletic or pep club sponsored events a school year.

  • Athletes/Cheerleaders/Band/Etc. who are playing/cheering are exempt
  • Athletes/Cheerleaders/Band/Etc. may count two of their own events towards their four.

What happens if I cannot attend all four?  If you cannot attend four events throughout the course of the year, speak to Mrs. Malcolm to see if she can help you work something out.

Two things that you must do as a Pep Club member is: remain positive and reflect sportsmanship.  Treat other teams, schools, and students with respect.  Treat your fellow Bear Cub’s with respect.  Remember the P.R.I.D.E. traits and that you represent Central Middle School!
